AFRO MANTRA er et urbant dans, rytmisk poesi og musikk smeltedigelen som forener øst-og vest afrikanske levende kulturtradisjoner.

Artistene som utgjør AFRO MANTRA er Ali Jabang (Gambia), Adjei Apenten (Ghana) Aliou Sissokho og Nasibu Mwanukuzi (Tanzania). I tillegg til disse fire artister har vi forskjellige Dj'er som fast resident kunstnere.

Instrumentene som brukes er kora, djembe, dun dun og kenkeni trommer og hypnotiserende vokal harmonier. Språkene som brukes er swahili, mandingo, wolof og engelsk.

AFRO MANTRA – African music, dance, Dj Session and rhythmic poetry

ImageBased on a club concept, Club Mantra offers live African music and rhythmic poetry plus DJ session. The length of the performance varies from one to three sets of 45 minutes. During the live show, the public is taken to a mesmerizing and unforgettable journey from East to West Africa, from the ancient to the modern.

Mandingo Trio’s music is a fine cocktail of griot (the origin of blues), pulsating African drum beats, and enthralling vocal harmonies. This rare combination of East and West African music has proven to be potent, both to critics and fans alike.

With the selection of DJ Harmony (from New York) from the control tower, the Club Mantra concept is complete. DJ Harmony is one of the most sought after DJ’s in reggae and R&B genres in town.

Club Mantra has been staged with a big success in many places. Among these are Zanzibar International Music Festival (Zanzibar), Smeltedigelen Blues and Jazz Festival (Mo i Rana) and Verkstedet Bar and Sound of Mu in Oslo.
